The NLCE is the National Landlord Code of Excellence Limited which was originally founded by 57 investor landlords and tenants to assist, by accreditation, landlords and letting agents to be able to overcome the impasse that can be created in the private housing sector between landlords, letting agents and tenants due to everyday problems that can arise. The NLCE is a forward thinking community that finds the tools to create a resolve to these everyday problems.
Accredited Members: Accredited members will need to carry out the accreditation courses and agree to the accreditation code of conduct and ongoing CPD courses. Members who become accredited will be recognised with the accreditation as exemplary landlords and agents in their field. Accredited members will also be offered (upon request and sign up) membership to Tenant Referencing UK where they will be able to carry out the checking of Tenants Histories to deal with constant anti-social tenants, plus checking a tenants right to rent in the UK and the use of the free property management portal and maintenance reporting system to make sure their property administration, certification and management is constantly kept up to date.
What is an accredited TR member?
As part of the accreditation the NLCE understands that in order to be able to overcome problems like anti-social behaviour we need to be able to share data on tenants who are a constant problem and avoid offering them a tenancy agreement in the first place. Landlords also need to protect their good tenants from anti-social neighbours while recognising them and offering them a good tenant history for their exemplary tenure.
At the NLCE partnered with Tenant Referencing UK.com we can offer landlords an opportunity to upload and check on circa 500,000 tenant histories that have been referenced and uploaded by landlords previously over the last 7 years. The databases consist of both good and problem tenants and give members an insight into a tenant’s history in a previous tenure.
Accredited members when joining Tenant Referencinguk.com will be able to carry out full tenant referencing, plus credit histories, tenant history, plus checking a tenants right to rent in the UK and the use of the free property management portal and maintenance reporting system to make sure their property administration, certification and management is constantly kept up to date.
The answer to better communities and better housing is accreditation for landlords to learn responsibility in offering others a home and to show they understand their lawful duty. Landlords need to be able to prove their ability for compliance to ongoing management legislation and for that the NLCE and its partners can offer them the tools to make sure they can maintain and carry out their duties in compliance with the law.
