As of 1st June 2019 the Tenant Fee Bill will become law.

Does the tenant fee ban apply to Landlords? Absolutely

So what does that mean for you as a Landlord? Basically you will not be able to charge tenants for anything except Rent, Security deposit and Holding deposit!

Can I charge a fee for referencing and credit checks? No

Can I charge for inventories? No

Can I charge a pet deposit? No, but you can charge higher rent if a tenant has a pet
