We are pleased to announce that we are re-running the CPD course we held back in September, for those who couldn’t make it.
Although not about private landlords, the Grenfell Tower tragedy was a poignant lesson for us all. Therefore our speakers from North Somerset Council & Avon Fire & Rescue Service will be covering:
Fire risk assessments:
+ Ability to conduct a practical risk assessment
+ Know how to conduct regular reviews
The nature of fire:
+ Develop knowledge
+ Identify typical sources of ignition
+ Understand how fire spreads
The second half of the course will be presented by a Private Rented Sector EPC and Legionella expert.
The law is clear that if you are a landlord and rent out your property (or even a room within your own home) then you have legal responsibilities to ensure the health and safety of your tenant by keeping the property safe and free from health hazards – E.g. Legionella.
+ Understand Legionnaires’ Disease
+ Identify and assess the risk of Legionella
+ Implement necessary measures to control risk
Regulations surrounding the Energy Performance Certificate are also changing from 1st April 2018, affecting both commercial and residential EPCS.
